Lombardi's is the oldest pizzeria in the U.S. -- located in the Little Italy/Nolita area amongst dozens of pizza joints, it offers a few indoor tables with a nice homie feel to it. We took our pizza to go so that we could eat it at a nearby park (which is a fun way to enjoy it in the summer if the inside is crowded). The pizza is good, but not exceptional. Not in the top three I've had in the city. But it's kind of fun to say you've eaten at America's first pizzeria, so it's definitely worth going once if you haven't tried it.

Excellent service, the waiters were so nice and efficient. I'm from California, we had to try this place....pizza was delicious! Perfectly cooked, great taste, everything tasted fresh. The place is casual but a great place for a quick bite or family dinner. We need this place in California Bay Area!

Made sure to do my research on New York style pizza and where to find some of the best pizza while traveling to New York (obviously) and came across Lombardi's being mentioned a ton as this place pretty much pioneered NY style pizza. The actual ambiance in here is great! Definitely has an old school New York/Italian household feel. Tons of photos on the wall and lots to look at. As I know how popular this place is, I was expecting a long wait but we luckily went on a weekday around 1pm and were seated quickly for a party of 4. Our server welcomed us and gave us some recommendations which was appreciated. Now onto the pizza review, I mean I can't say they don't know how to do NY style pizza because they literally invented it so obviously it was spot on. The crust was thin and crispy and held it's fold. Tried a pepperoni and sausage pizza, the toppings were a good amount and the cheese was really good. My only complaint is that I wish the sauce had a bit more flavor to really make the pizza stand out. Overall if you want a slice of history you should give this place a try.

Dined here based off of a friends recommendation. We're glad we did! Great service, great vibe. The pizzas came out hot! Super flavorful, fantastic texture. We ordered three pies flour five of us, and couldn't finish it. Will return the next time I'm in town!

4++ From a tourist POV (me) - fun info: America's first pizzeria and founded in 1905. Pioneer of NY style pizza. So yeah... this was on my 'must go to' list when I visited NYC. Again, from a tourist POV - this place has that authentic old school New York, Little Italy feel and look. Or at least what I imagined it would be from watching tons of movies/shows set in the area. And from my general memory, the service was great. I ordered the meatball and ricotta. My friend wanted to add olives. I wasn't opposed cause I like olives as well. In and of itself, the pizza was delicious. The sauce, the toppings, the crust...just yum. The meatball is a good combo with that ricotta cheese to give it a creamier texture and mellow out the acidity from the sauce and other toppings. I've actually been twice - first time was when I was in town for the Super Bowl. The second time was when I was in town for work and this was quick walk / subway ride from the hotel me and my boss were staying at. Both times I visited, the place wasn't too crowded and was pretty chill. But to be fair, the first time I was there, it was during the week for lunch during an off hour. Second time, it was a Monday night after flying in from the west coast, so it was on the later side. Overall, I would say this is a must try for out of towners. I recently suggested it to my sis-in-law and my niece on their recent trip. If not just for the pizza, it's just what I consider a quintessential NYC experience.

Lombardi's Pizza is the first pizzeria in the U.S. and was established in 1905 by Gennaro Lombardi. We can all thank the arrival of Italian immigrants to the United States in the late 19th century for introducing one of America's favorite foods. Gennaro Lombardi immigrated to the U.S. from Naples in 1897 and opened a grocery store here before selling pizza pies. This Lombardi's Pizza location opened in 1994 after the original location that was a block away closed up years earlier. On a trip to Manhattan, I wanted to eat at this historic place for dinner and try some authentic New York pizza. It was a rainy night and we enjoyed having a nice cozy dinner here. Lombardi's uses a coal fired oven which gives the pizza crust a nice smoky flavor. We ordered an Original Margherita, some salad and wine for dinner. I enjoyed the fresh whole milk mozzarella on top of the tomato sauce. The service was great and we had a delightful evening.

Solid, solid pizza. I was a *tad* hesitant that a 12" pie would feed us right. Over 100 years, they know what they're doing. That said, estimate a pie for 2 people; 3 if you're adding salad, apps or dessert. Our party of 7 was fine with 3 pies. Remember: cash only but there's an ATM inside near the service station. The host was terrific and got us in quickly, no fuss, no muss but a little "escarole" never hurts ;) There's a few reasons it's been around for over 100 years and I can say the quality of the pizza is definitely one of them. Special shout out to: ricotta rosettes on your pizza. Gotta get it.

Great food, quick service and wonderful ambience! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and only waited about 15 minutes. The Meatball & Ricotta Red Pie is the shit. Generous amount of meatballs and giant globs of creamy ricotta served piping hot. God, it was so freakin' good. Pair it with a beer - it's the ultimate combo. The Bruschetta served on Rustic Bread was made with vine ripe tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, oil, onion, grated cheese with salts and peppers. One order comes with four pieces. I found it to be wonderful. It was fresh and the seasonings were plentiful. As with the pizza, each slice was generously prepared. The prices are a little bit on the steeper end. But when you're America's First Pizzeria (?), you get to charge whatever you want. Cash only. Expect a wait.
